editing rhythm

Editing rhythm refers to the editing technique where you are editing to say a song not necessarily the beat of the song but a song all the same for tension, so for a fight scene with fast or intense music you would want to use faster paced editing, to create tension and suspense as to what is going on in the scene. You see this in a lot of music videos and thriller/ action films that have a lot of fast paced chase, fight and tension scenes.
The link above shows a scene from the film karate kid, where the young character is being beaten up by the 'bully gang' and then Jackie Chan comes in and saves the day, fighting with the gang single handed and wins. the fight using fast paced editing to create the tension needed.
