Clarifying the purpose of the work with a client or director

The whole point of an editor’s job is to make sure that their client or their boss is happy, as at the end of the day it is them that is paying you. They are not going to recommend you to anyone else if they ask you to do a job for them, and you do it the way that you want it to look because you think that your method is better, at the end of the day it is their project it is your job to make them happy.
Although I didn’t have a client that I was working for, for any of my projects, I did have to work to a brief for a lecturer. Which is just as important as working towards what a client wants as at the end of the day, if you do not meet the brief than you that doesn’t get the grade that you want which is going to affect you more than it is the lecturer.
For instance with the working for the client you would be in constant contact with them, making sure that what you were doing with their project is what they want. Keeping them happy and so you would be meeting with them to make sure that  you were meeting and excelling their expectations.
